As the role of Medical Affairs continues to expand, organizations are increasingly required to make informed decisions on where to invest to maximize impact. A global pharmaceutical company sought to strengthen its medical strategy by gaining clearer guidance on how to prioritize investments and measure their effectiveness. While additional resources had been allocated, there were limited data-driven insights into which activities generated the greatest value and impact and how performance should be tracked over time.

To address this, Trilations’ structured Medical Excellence & Impact approach was applied. By combining the collection of granular and dimensional competitive performance insights, based on Medical affairs relevant sample, and AI driven analysis & modeling. With leveraging multi-wave insights, the analysis identified the key drivers of HCP engagement and their relative impact on performance.

This enabled a clear prioritization of investment areas, with medical information standing out as a critical driver of success. At the same time, performance gaps versus competitors and negative trends in key segments were identified, providing a focused basis for action.Building on these insights, targeted action plans were co-created through cross-functional activation workshops, ensuring alignment between medical and commercial teams. These plans were supported by clearly defined KPIs and embedded through tailored capability-building initiatives.

As a result, the organization established a more robust and measurable approach to Medical investment decisions. This led to improved performance across key indicators, stronger alignment across functions, and the ability to track progress and impact over time. The structured approach also enabled continuous refinement of the strategy based on new insights, strengthening the organization’s competitive positioning and long-term impact.
