Ever wonder what sets Trilations apart from other companies in the consulting industry? Look no further! Our 'Start-up @ Trilations' program is one of the many things that makes us stand out as a company. The primary goal of this program is stimulating the personal and professional growth of employees while contributing to the expansion of the firm and having lots of fun doing it. Curious to find out more about this concept and its practical implications? If you keep reading, you'll learn everything there is to know about the goals, benefits, and—most importantly—fun that comes along with this yearly initiative!

Start-up @ Trilations is a yearly recurring initiative that exists in our company. The main goal of the initiative is to work on projects in small groups in order to have an impact on the company and/or society. Although not part of the daily functioning of the company, the projects are of great importance. The idea behind the initiative is that employees at Trilations can work on topics within their field of interest. Since they are the ones proposing the topics, they feel a high affinity for and commitment to them. Further, within these projects, we stimulate our employees to be as creative as they want; all kinds of ideas and input are very much welcome!

The start-up environment is not only exciting, but also provides a great chance to gain knowledge and hone skills in a variety of niche areas. The initiative follows a fixed timeline. Every year, the chosen projects are assigned a project sponsor; usually a senior guide with specific knowledge on the subject. At the start of each year we host a Start-up @ Trilations Kick-Off Event, where those sponsors pitch their project to the rest of the company. It's their job to recruit members, assign a project manager, and set the scope to work towards the project's goals. By embracing a standard project cycle, the members of the team (who are mostly junior) learn about specific skills, such as project management, presentation skills, persuasive communication, and many more in a safe environment. And to top it off, this way of working contributes to the feedback culture within the company.

Over the years, our Trilations' commitment to this idea has grown stronger and more organized over time. It has been ingrained in our work culture. Although there have been some changes in time, the fundamentals of the concept have stayed the same.

  • Fun: Fun at work is of crucial importance! Therefore, events and team building activities are organized specifically for the start-up groups. The start-up projects also provide the opportunity to collaborate with coworkers you may not normally have contact with. Employees get to know each other on a different level.

  • Energy: Our consultants have a lot of energy and passion, and they get to channel it into these new ventures. All employees are encouraged to contribute their ideas and feedback in an effort to maximize the results of all initiatives.

  • Learning: Naturally, learning is one of the cornerstones of all our endeavors. Our goal is to provide an environment where our consultants can learn and grow in their roles as advisors. They can hone abilities like public speaking, time management, giving and receiving constructive criticism, etc. They can also take on duties and responsibilities at the start-ups that they don't have at their clients because of the start-ups' formal structure. They can develop into better consultants by trying new things and expanding their horizons in this way.

  • Agility: Last but not least, start-up efforts keep the organization and its people nimble. This is essential in today's dynamic culture. Our consultants are constantly pushed to consider innovative ways of approaching problems and implementing solutions for Trilations. Trilations as a company and our consultants will both benefit from this change.

Last but not least, the Start-Ups @Trilations are extremely engaging and loved, since they reach objectives and implement solutions. Over the course of the years, we have been able to work toward concrete goals and achieve excellent results.

'Corporate Social Responsibility' is the first example of a successful start-up. The CSR project exploded in size as a result of its importance and success and can no longer be missed by our organization. Their mission is to assume corporate responsibility in the areas of environmental protection, social justice, and employee well-being. Trilations has taken several steps in this direction, including being a major sponsor of Natuurpunt, supporting the youth support center De Vlinderkens, hosting a wine sale to benefit Kom-Op-Tegen-Kanker, providing free bike repairs to all employees, and many other activities. Go check out our latest CSR initiatives here. 'Personalized Learning' is another example of a successful start-up. The group working on this project came up with an innovative approach to corporate education. This led to the implementation of the "Mobietrain" platform throughout Trilations. Every employee now has access to this platform's tool-based, bite-size learning opportunities. Last but not least, the values of Trilations were redefined in the startup '#OneTeam'. One core value was spotlighted each month through a variety of creative and engaging activities, such as shooting a video, hosting a quiz, etc. The purpose of this program was to make sure our values match our employees, but also that our employees reflect the ideals of the company as a whole!

Trilations aspires to be more than just a standard consulting firm, as shown by the efforts made in the Start-up @ Trilations program. We are a close-knit group of consultants that all have a passion for making a positive impact in the workplace, the world, and on our own personal development.
